Overview

XC Comments#

CRUD endpoints for comments on an XC (Cross-Connect) request. Comments support optional threading (replies) and can be scoped to a specific connection within the request.

Concepts#

Visibility (type): a comment is either PUBLIC or PRIVATE.
PUBLIC comments are visible to everyone (internal users and the client's business users) and trigger a notification email to the global XC admins and the request's requester.
PRIVATE comments are internal-only. Business users never see, create, update, or delete PRIVATE comments, and cannot set type explicitly on any comment they create — every comment they create is forced to PUBLIC.
Threading: a comment can be a reply via parent_comment_id. A reply automatically inherits its parent's type and xc_connection_id; passing a conflicting type or xc_connection_id on a reply is rejected.
Connection scoping: a top-level (non-reply) comment can optionally be tied to a specific xc_connection_id belonging to the same request. GET List supports filtering by this field.
Ownership: business users may only update or delete their own comments; internal users are not restricted by authorship.
Business scoping: a business user can only access comments on XC requests that belong to their own business.
Immutable on update: PATCH only accepts the comment text — the request, connection, author, thread, and type cannot be changed after creation.

Endpoints#

List XC comments#

GET /v1/xc/requests/{id}/comments
All comments for a request, in chronological order, optionally filtered by xc_connection_id.

Create a XC comment#

POST /v1/xc/requests/{id}/comments
Creates a top-level comment or a reply.

Get a XC comment#

GET /v1/xc/requests/{id}/comments/{commentId}
Returns a single comment by ID.

Update a XC comment#

PATCH /v1/xc/requests/{id}/comments/{commentId}
Edits a comment's text only.

Delete a XC comment#

DELETE /v1/xc/requests/{id}/comments/{commentId}
Permanently deletes a comment.
